In the fourth pit stop, players will sort three pieces of evidence that have been presented to support the claim. The evidence statements should be ranked based on how well they support the claim, with the best support at the top and the worst at the bottom.

Players can move the statements up and down in the list by clicking and dragging with the mouse. Once they think they have the items in the correct order, players will click “Submit Your Ranking”. If they are correct, they will move on. If they are incorrect, they must try again.

The three evidence statements are chosen from a pool of nine, but they will always see one that is “good,” one that is “bad,” and one that is “average.” The ranking of the evidence is a judgment call, and is an opportunity for discussion later when reviewing the game. You can ask questions like “Why might the scenario authors have thought this was good evidence?” If you (or the students) disagree on the quality of the evidence, please feel free to contact us.

In some rare cases, the game can get stuck, and the players will be unable to drop the evidence back into the list. Unfortunately, if this happens the only option is to restart the game for that player.

Once they have submitted the three statements in the correct order, players will return to the race and drive to the next pit stop.
